Brilliant advice since I will need to activate my new phone, be it a 4s
or later, without sighted assistance around. Good to know one can
activate the phone without such assistance and maybe calling the carrier
if the need arises.

Hi,
When your phone starts up, do the triple press of home to turn Voiceover on and
just follow the on screen instructions. There isn’t really more to it than
that.

I currently have an unlocked iPhone 4 on T-Mobile’s prepaid plan. I’ve ordered
an iPhone 5s from apple which should come with a T-Mobile sim installed. Since
this is the first time I will have gotten a new iPhone without going to a
carrier store what do I need to do once I turn the phone on? My understanding
is that I can triple click home and Voiceover will automatically turn on
walking me through the setup process. I’m not sure how to activate the new sim
using my existing number with T-Mobile though. Would I be better off buying a
sim cutter and cutting my existing micro sim to a Nano sim?
