Wow! 60 or 70 Apps? Here's me with 6 and a half pages of apps. Might I ask
what apps you find useful incase I've missed a few? Feel free to be honest
about how many you actually use and how many are there for old time sake.
<grin> I've heard of people having 20 or more pages of apps.

that there are a few bugs in iOS 7 just as there were some in iOS 6 and

perception that iOS 7 is this horrible upgrade which takes accessibility

In reality iOS 7 is an awesome update, looking back it will most likely be
viewed as very well done and all in all sighted and blind people alike
will
like it a lot.
Some people seem to think that half their apps won't run on it because
there
hasn't been a specific update that says "iOS 7 fixes" but of course the
fact
is that among my 60 or 70 apps all but 3 or 4 worked even with the Beta
version. Of the few which didn't work (Groundwire SIP client and Talking
Goggles specifically) updates which fixed the problems were out even
before
the public release. Tap Tap See which is an important app for many worked
but had some issues with the Flash and the Repeat button not working and
it's been fixed by now, bearly a week later.
Mary is worried about the Seeing Eye app, but I have not seen a single
message that it was not working in iOS 7.
Anyhow, I don't want to repeat myself, but I just can't stress enough that
iOS 7 is a good update which is working well at this point and I wouldn't
go
back to iOS 6 even if I could and somebody offered me $50 to do so.
I think the reason why Apple is pushing the update to download and then
notify people is because there are a lot of people who can't care less
about
following the latest news about iOS and that way Apple makes sure they do
realize there is an update and when people see that an update is available
and there is just a button that says "Install" they will do it.
I wonder how Mary and others who are so angry at Apple right now would
feel
if they bought the latest and greatest Galaxy S4 now and a year from now
some absolutely awesome Android update came out which would improve
accessibility by miles and they couldn't upgrade because their 1 year old
device is not compatible. I read that I think it is 0.5% of Android
devices
out there are running the latest version of Android. Most devices that are
a
year or 2 old never have a hope to get an update. On the other hand well
over 50% of all allegeable iOS devices which can run iOS 7 already have
upgraded. Sure, iPhone 3GS and iPad 1 users as well as pre Fifth Gen iPod
Touch users can't upgrade, but I think by now this is a fairly small
number
and it will be smaller still in 6 months as many who have a 3GS will
upgrade
to at least a 4S or 5C and then use iOS 7. I wouldn't be surprised if 80%+
will be running iOS 7 in 6 months.
I also hope that the wining about not being able to downgrade or about the
injustice of having this upgrade downloaded to one's device stops because
it
really is not very constructive and it's not like it will change anything.
I
wonder how many people are still running iOS 5, I bet it's very few and we
all know that we can count on Apple to fix some bugs in 6 or so weeks and
it
would be much more helpful if people would send good feedback to Apple
Accessibility rather than vent their anger which in many cases is based on
some perceived problem they heard about but haven't even experienced.
