I used the old phone tone for a long time for my tone and just left it on
the default tone when i installed iOS 7 but the new tones sound a bit
sissyish to me. I'll probably eventually switch it back to the old phone
tone.

I'm glad they kept the older tones since I can't always hear the new
ones due to my hearing loss. I have gotten used to some of the older
ones that are quite distinct, like the old phone and the callipso
sound for text messages. I do like many of the newer ones though.
