You start with a song or an artist. iTunes radio then plays songs similar to the one you started with. Whenever you like a song, iTunes uses that song to expand your choices. Select info whilst in the song playing screen and under tune this station, you can choose its (plays only radio hits, so a limited selection), discovery (plays songs from all of the music available in iTunes that matches the song/artist style, a very wide selection), or variety (mixes the two together so you get hits interspersed with everything else). You can also check the explicit box if you don't mind more colourful language in your music. Go to the main radio station selection page and double-tap on edit. Double tap on your radio station name and you will see two lists. The first list is the artists and songs you like. You can add artists and songs to this list, and your station will change to encompass these styles of music as well. The do not play list is songs and artists you do not like. Add to this list and iTunes will not play those artists or songs when playing your chosen music. In other words, your music is always randomly shuffled, and it is music that is similar to all the types of music you have selected in your like list. A shuffle button would be superfluous.
