I'd suggest closing and re-opening iTunes. If the Match process still appears to hang or gives you erorrs. Try going to the Store menu and turning off then on iTunes Match. If the option to turn off iTunes Match is grayed out, then you could try signing out and back into the iTunes Store, also from the Store menu. These steps, in order, have assisted me in the majority of cases where iTunes Match is experiencing problems.
