Hi Conrad, I am sure Melissa's suggestion is very nice, but there is no such thing as "the best" Bluetooth earpiece. If you ask 5 people you probably get 5 or at least 3 or 4 different answers. What you want to look for is that whatever you pick is A2DP compatible. This is what makes Voiceover come through the earpiece. I think there are probably few earpieces that are new which don't include the a2DP protocol.
I would also not buy anything which only supports the Bluetooth 2.1 standard. Look for Bluetooth 3.0 which will give you better reception and better battery life. I haven't seen too many Bluetooth4.0 headsets, in fact, I can't recall any model right now, but that would be ideal. I personally also like models where the microphone part folds in and where that is what controls whether the headset is on or off. The Jabra Supreme offers that and it is the headset I currently use with my 4S. I will get my 5S tomorrow and I'll post a brief message just to offer my initial impressions and whether it works with my Jabra Supreme. Another headset which has been favorably review on Viphone is the Motorola H19-TXT and for a less expensive model the Plantronics M50. As a final note, just make sure you buy from a vendor who offers a good return policy like Amazon. This way you can buy something and in case you don't like it return it and try something else. Oh, and there is of course the bone conduction technology from Aftershokz. They have a Bluetooth version of their headset called the Aftershokz Bluez which doesn't cover your ears and which some people really like. I don't think it will give you the same sound quality as a "normal" Bluetooth earpiece, but it does work. If you are not in a hurry, you may want to check out the Kickstarter project called "Soundband" on www.kickstarter.com or www.soundband.com. The project is closed now, but to me this sounds like one of the best options yet when it comes to having good audio quality without having something that covers your ears. Another really nice feature I appreciate asa rrelatively frequent traveler is the fact that you can use the Soundband either as a Bluetooth headset or as a wired headset when you are on a plane.
