Hi Dan,

I've used an iPhone 3GS and am now currently using an iPhone 4S, and I have never been able to play/pause music of any kind when the screen is locked.

Having said that, I have to admit not ever using Audible when my phone was locked, so I can't speak to your specific situation, but having used the command to play/pause my library when it was playing. and streaming live radio and/or listening to the podcasts on iBlink Radio, this has never been a command I could execute when the phone's screen was locked, as I would imagine this would defeat the purpose of locking the screen. Grins.

In any case, If this is something that was happening before today, then this behaviour would be highly suspect, and I would say that your phone is now behaving within expected norms as of today.

In any case, if this is not a behaviour you prefer, then I would recommend you make sure that your app updates aren't set to download and install automatically, as an app may download and install while having bugs to it that has adverse affects to Voiceover functionality. At least this has been the on-going consensus on the Google Groups iPhone list I belong to.
