The phones do this, they switch the charging circuit on and off as needed; so if it runs a little with charging circuit off, the charge will go down a little even though connected. But it'll come back on and top up again. Oddly, mine sometimes does say something like 100%, on AC power. Other times, it'll say 100% charging.
