Hi,

I was told by the tech to hold both buttons until the phone talks to me.
Then release and you will be able to flick through the options. Double tap
on restore.

Good luck

Hi Ron
That is exactly what happend when I connected to the PC and wanted to do a
restore. I got the message that it could not do because "find my iPhone must
be switched off".
I shall follow your steps and fortunately, before I upgraded to 7.03 I did a
backup.
Just one question: must I hold home and sleep until VO starts to speak or
must I relese the buttons after a minute.
Regards
Fanus

Hi Fanus,

If there is a passcode in there and you don't know what it
is, you have a
problem. I hope you have a backup. I had that problem and
couldn't even
restore because it told me I couldn't restore until I turned
off the "find
my phone" and I couldn't do that because my phone was
locked.

I called Apple and here is what I was walked through.

I had to hold the home button and lock button together for
30 seconds to a
minute. When the phone was ready it gave me some choices
and I had to pick
restore. From there, I'm sure you can follow the prompts.
You will get to
do the setup again. You will be asked again to put in a
passcode. You can
skip that if you want and go on with the rest. When you are
comfortable
with entering the passcode, you can go back to the settings
and do it then.

This passcode idea can be great but, you're not allowed to
forget it. The
very worse thing that can happen is that you don't have a
backup of your
phone. In that case, I have no idea of what you could do
short of bringing
your phone in to your dealer.

Subject: serious ios 7.03 problem

Hello list
This morning I upgraded to IOS 7.03 and during the setup
process I skipped
the section where I was asked for a passcode.
A few minutes ago I received a call and I did the usual 2
finger double tap
to end the call and the iPhone 4S went to sleep. I pressed
the home button
and double tapped the "unlock" button and now I am asked for
a passcode.
Apart from the digits there is an "emergency" button and a
cancel button but
none of these have any effect. I switched the phone off but
now, before I
can enter the pin code that dialog for the passcode appears.
Can anyone suggest a solution?
Regards
Fanus
