Can you do this from the pc too or just the phone?
I tried from the phone once but neer got rid of it all.

go to settings/general/usage and double tap on the music app. Double tap
edit, and double tap delete.

Go to your phone in ITunes, check music, uncheck sink entire music
library, check selected play lists artists and gendras, and you will
be able to check any artists, albums or songs. HTH.
