Is the referred to AUS band the same as the Verizon CDMA? I have an iPhone 5
under contract with Verizon, and am wondering what options I may have when it
comes off contract in a year. I'm certainly intrigued by T-Mobile.

Subject: RE: T mobile users out there, question

I live in Canada but when I travel to the US I use a T-Mobile prepaid line.
This means I can give you some information about T-Mobile's performance with an
iPhone. First of all, if you have an iPhone 5 manufactured before mid-April
2013, or an older model of iPhone, it is missing the 1700/2100 AWS band that
T-Mobile uses. This means that in certain areas you won't be able to use
DC-HSPA and you will fall back to GSM which means that your data will be a lot
slower. However, T-Mobile is refarming a lot of their spectrum to not use AWS,
so especially in major cities, this won't be an issue. And of course if you
have a GSM iPhone 5 you'll get access to T-Mobile's LTE network where
available, also making the lack of AWS a non-issue in those areas. The GSM
iPhone 5S offers full compatibility with T-Mobile, as does the GSM iPhone 5
manufactured after mid-April 2013.

In the past year I've been to Phoenix and Orlando. In the former case I had an
iPhone 5 that was missing the AWS band; in the latter case I had an iPhone 5
that was fully compatible. In both cases, T-Mobile's network was lightning fast
and without any hiccups. If I lived in the United States, I would sign up for
T-Mobile in a heartbeat. Of course, this will depend a lot on T-Mobile's
coverage where you are, so you could check the coverage map or try a prepaid
line before signing up. Unlimited data on T-Mobile is pretty sweet, but they do
block tethering unless you pay extra.

Hope this helps.

Thank you all for the info about Sprint. Any info or feedback about T mobile? I
found out they too have unlimited data. Any info is appreciated.
