Thanks to all of you who have given me some excellent suggestions! After your 
reply, Mark, I went in and did a more thorough look at the reminders app. It 
has a lot of capabilities that, sadly, I did not know existed. And it works 
extremely well with Siri.

Again, thanks to everyone for the suggestions. With all of these things now in 
my arsenal, I should have the problem solved!
