Well, I must have been dreaming because I have not been able to duplicate
having two different years on the screen.
Who knows.
But, I have good news for future Fantastical 2 purchasers.
I wrote support to both give them positive feedback about the VoiceOver
accessibility in most aspects of the app, and to thank them for providing the
month view; but I also mentioned the frustration with the introductory screens.
They have already addressed this in an update that should be out soon. If
VoiceOver is on, it will skip the introduction. They felt it did not help
VoiceOver users.
I was impressed that they responded within a couple hours of my note.
I will add this app to my recommended apps list.
Thanks for mentioning it on the list. Later,

Richard
