Awesome, glad it worked, I fixed a friend of mine's iphone a few weeks ago by doing that.

Hi, all.

Okay, the reset did the trick. I have no clue what happened to kill voice
over or freeze the phone; it was just sitting there unplugged doing nothing.
It's working fine now, though. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

Lisa

Okay, just to verify, this would set VO back to some kind of default?
Just checking because I can't tell if the screen is lit up or not.

I would try a reset. Hold the home and power buttons for about 10 seconds.
This should force a reboot.

Hi, all.

Using an iPhone 5 with the 7.03 OS.

My phone was working fine as of around 12:30 this morning. the last
thing I did was check the weather and then replace the phone on my
bedside table. It's programmed to lock after three minutes. The phone
wasn't on the charger because the battery was at around 80% the last time
I checked.

a couple of hours later, I tried checking the time by pressing the home
button once and got no speech at all. I tried using SIRI and got no
audio feedback. I tried plugging the phone in even though I know the
battery is about three quarters full. I did here the phone tell me the
battery was at 75% and charging and then the phone went silent again. I
tried pressing the home button and flicking the mute switch and the phone
didn't vibrate.

I've also tried using Bluetooth headphones and an external Bluetooth
speaker which have been paired with the phone for a while but I'm still
not hearing noises or speech.

I now have the phone connected to my PC and according to iTunes, all is
well, I made sure VO was running through the configure accessibility
menu, but still no speech. I did feel the phone vibrate about 2 minutes
ago, but I'm not sure what this means as the battery isn't finished
charging.

I've tried using my Bluetooth keyboard to mute/unmute, but still nothing.

I've tried the triple click home several times and haven't gotten any
speech at all after that initial announcement of the charging battery. I
also tried the three finger double tap and heard no indication of speech
being turned on or off.

I don't think this is a case of volume being turned down as I could hear
the phone just fine when it talked last.

I haven't dropped the phone or dropped my Bluetooth keyboard; the phone
was just sitting on my nightstand so I have no clue what caused this.
Like I said, it was working fine yesterday and once earlier this morning.

I have no sighted help here and won't have any for a couple of days. If
I restore the phone, will I get the default volume settings back?

TIA for the help.

Lisa
