Right, if you haven't double tapped the Purchased button then you'll see the header "Updates". If all of your apps are up to date, then you'll just see sub headers with the date the apps in that section have been updated. You won't have an update button next to apps that don't have an update and you won't have an update all button if all of the apps are up to date. You will have an open button next to those apps which are up to date. Sorry my first message was a bit confusing. I didn't think enough about the situation where all of your apps might already be up to date.

Chris,

fI don't have automatic updates turned on. When I go into the app store and go down to the bottom right corner and click on update the screen opens up and tells me about all the apps and when they were updated. All I see there is open buttons by each app. So if I don't have an update button by each app that must mean it has been updated. Is that correct?

Sounds like you double tapped on the Purchased button. Does the header on that page say "Purchased"? Do you have a button in the top left corner that says "Updates, back button". If so, double tap on that. You should then have an update button next to each app that has an update to be installed as well as an update all button near the top of the page. Down that page, you'll see heading like "Updated November 5" and the list of apps that were updated on that day. This is how you can find when an app was last updated.

You won't have the update buttons or the update all button if you have automatic updates turned on though. In that case, the apps will be updated automatically, and you'll just see the list of when your apps were updates in the Updates page of the App Store.

    Hi,

When I go into the app store and click on the update button I get
a list of apps and it tell me what the fixes are going to be for
each app. Then there is an open button for each app. So if I
click the open button does that update that app? Then when I go
back to the list of updated apps and go through the list again how
do I tell if they are updated?

    Thanks in advance
