Hi Caitlyn,

You already have some information from the other posts, I just wanted to add
that if you can afford to pay annually you get a better deal than if you pay
monthly.

For example, the Gold Membership is 14.95 USD per month and you get 1 credit
for that (can't remember if you are in the States or Canada).
As Richard pointed out, if you buy the 12 credits all at once they are
$149.50 which works out to only $12.46 per credit, you save approx. $2.50
per credit/book.

The cheapest per credit/book plan (I rarely see any books which cost 2
credits) is the annual Platinum membership. You get 24 credits for $229.50
and this works out to $9.56 per credit.
I usually buy only unabridged novels and rarely do I buy one that is less
than 10 hours and you really get your money's worth if you buy authors like
Steven King, Bryce Courtenay, Wilbur Smith and so on where most books are 20
to 30 hours or even more for some Steven King books.

For me another significant member benefit is the fact that I get promo
emails where I can often buy books for between $3 and $5 or $6. Right now
for the last month or 2 there have been so-called "daily deals". These are
books which range from $2.95 to $5.95 and I have found some good ones among
them.
Other promos allow you to buy as many books as you like for $4.95 from a
list of 100 or 200 books. I have seen lists where I found only one or two
books which interested me and others where I ended up buying an extra 10 or
12 books spending another $50 or $60. You have to make sure when you check
out that you check that they aren't using credits for stuff like that
because it of course makes little sense to use a credit which cost you $10
or $12 for a book you can buy for $4.95.
I read a lot of books and usually find that by taking advantage of the
promotions my average book price is about $8 or so and I feel that for the
quality of the books/readers and the fact I can usually get books at the
same time as they released in print this is a fantastic deal.

As Richard and Shannon pointed out the books are yours forever, they
actually are available to you even if you cancel your membership and don't
pay any more. You can access them in your library, but you can also download
them to your computer if you want to keep a local copy, but then you would
have to sync them to your iPhone via iTunes whereas you can download
directly to your iPhone using the Audible app which for the last few months
or so has been fantastically accessible and the best that it has ever been.

OK, below some final information straight from the Audible website including
