Hello, I played around with Red Laser yesterday. It's important to have good lighting. I know it has been suggested in this topic to turn on the light within REd Laser. This is located in the upper right hand corner, just under the battery percentage. Locating the barcode seems to be problematic at times even with comparing it with Digit-Eyes. Sometimes, when you think the barcode should be in the logical place it isn't. I don't know what kinds of things you are trying to barcode, but when I am dealing with cans, I place a rolled towel in front and in the back to stabilize it and move the can instead of the phone. This way I can keep two hands on the phone making sure that it is straight in the horizontal plane. HTH.
