When ever I install a new app or download a new book or ring tone, I'm
always prompted for my password even though I'm signed into my account.
I suspect that's for your protection just in case you've left it open and
running on the dining room table for example and somebody else tries to
download something. I don't mind it. If it's an app I've deleted because
it's not working right or I've decided I don't want it and later on changed
my mind then I'm not prompted for my password.
