Hello Tom, Kobo books are my favourite ebooks. I have no trouble at all reading them on my iPhone and I also have them on my Mac. You just have to set up the app correctly and Kobo is easy to use. It reads through a chapter at a time and you have to double tap the link at the bottom right at the end of the chapter to go to the next chapter.
You have to set the page turning to scrolling when you use VoiceOver, but otherwise, no problem.
