Thank you, Seighard.
Well I told you I was thickheaded, it's what I get for trying to do something when I am tired and feel like i do.
This is for the Iphone, not the ipad.
So I'm in the process of updating my phone.

I will go back into hiding now and won't show my ignorance any more today, grin.

Hi Patty,

If you have a bunch of songs in iTunes on your iPad and they don't show
under Genres that means they don't have the proper ID3 tags. iTunes uses
these tags (genre, artist, album title, song title etc.) to display and sort
your music.

Subject: I got it

Thanks, I found the Itunes app but I must say I am not real excited
about it.
Each genre ai search for its says no results. And I have one song that
plays in it that ported o ver from Iradio and it sounds awful, has that
jumping sound.
I even turned the ipad off and on again thinking I should have done that
before and nothing has changed.
I may play something else on the ipad and see if it sounds as bad.
