Just out of curiocity, do you drag your iPad around a lot in a pack or bag where you might scratch it? Personally I don't see much point in a screen protector for an iPad. If I took it with me a lot I'd probably invest in one of the SmartCovers or a slightly padded pouch just to protect it when it's inside a pack. I used to have one of the Invisishield protectors on my iPhone 4 and while they are probably excellent protection, I just did not like how they make it hard from sliding your finger around on the screen. Other, cheaper screen protectors are harder/slicker, but I have yet to see one which is as smooth and offers as little friction as the glass itself. Keep in mind that glass is extremely hard and the glass used for an iPhone is even harder and tougher than regular glass. It takes quite a lot to scratch it and if you drop your iPhone or iPad a screen protector won't do all that much to prevent the screen from breaking.
