It often happens that when you are unsuccessful at pairing the Apex, or any
other device with either the iPad or the iPhone, you need to begin the
entire process all over again. But, first, you need to tell the iPad to
"forget this device." You can then attempt to pair and if you still hear
the iPad tell you that search is dimmed, you probably will need to turn off
BlueTooth in both the iPad, as well as the Apex and reboot both devices and
start the entire pairing process again. Unfortunately, you don't have much
time to enter the 0000 and then quickly find the pair button. Sometimes I
have been lucky and have paired very quickly; however, the first time I
paired my Apex with an iPhone, it took me about an hour to do it.

Hi Joseph,

I was working with a student who is blind and we were having her pair the
iPad to the Apex. She couldn't press the code fast enough to pair it with
the Apex. I want her to do it independently. Then I tried and had trouble
pairing. Any tips?

Then reply to the confirmation message.
Also, make sure that Apex is connected to only these two devices
- go to Options, Connectivity, bluetooth, do not search for
devices, and from list of devices, see if both your iPad and
iPhone are listed as paired (and active).
Cheers,

How do I subscribe to that Apex list?

Hi Donna,
What helps is to turn off or lock the first device before pairing
with the second. Note that Apex can pair and use two Bluetooth
devices at once.
There is an active discussion going on the BrailleNote list where
a member (who is a member of this list as well) cannot keep the
connection alive (or, as he puts it, Apex drops the connection
after few seconds).
Cheers,
Joseph

Subject: Apex staying paired with IPad and IPhoneBluetooth and

I have both an IPad and an IPhone. I recently got an Apex BT 32.
It seems that when I get my apex and IPad finally paired and work
with that for a while things go well. Then, if I try to work
with the IPhone after, the switch, I have to pair again. So, I
guess this is not very clear, but I am wondering how to use the
apex successfully with both the IPad and the IPhone without
having to go through the pairing each time.
Should I maybe completely turn off the device I was using with
the apex and then let the other device pair on its own? Or, am I
asking too much to be able to use the devices without having to
pair each time?

Hope my question is clear enough?
