No, you don't have to smash while the thunder is sounding, but you do
simply have to be fast, fast, fast. Once the narrator says something to
the effect of "oh, just run! Get out of there!" then you just run as fast
as you can. Once you're familiar with the direction to run in, that will
make things much easier. :) Franikly, I really don't know how the
achievements work. If you suspect you've made an achievement, you might
have to look in Game Center itself.
