I don't see anyone making the assumption that everyone loves Fleksy or that anyone who doesn't want to should have to learn Fleksy. No one, as far as I can tell, is proposing that Apple dump it's virtual keyboard and replace it with Fleksy. All I see hear is that people who do like Fleksy can make it the default keyboard in some of their apps and maybe in IOS in the future. Again, this is just adding more flexibility and choices to IOS and IOS apps. I don't see anything wrong with more choice and flexibility, and I don't see an issue with people liking and choosing to use Fleksy. I don't use dictation very often, but I don't think you're telling me I should use it just because you think it's cool.

didn't. Just something else to learn how to use. I already know how to
type and don't want to have to learn yet another way. And so somebody
else comes up with the newest gee-wiz app and are we then expected to
learn that too because somebody thinks it's cool for the blind?
Personally, I think the dictation feature of iOS 7 knocks fleksy out of
the ball game.

What would be even better is if Apple allowed other keyboards to be
installed and set as the default. This is going to require the
developer of each app to add these features. On Android for example,
you can set fleksy as your default keyboard and it automatically
appears in any app when entering text.

Hi, I've seen this happen in my favorite Google Voice app called GV
Connect, and it's also available in Blind Square. I believe also there
is a note taking app which uses the Fleksy SDK for that access. So, to
me this is a step forward in the right direction. I hope more developers
continue to do this for those who really like Fleksy. After all, it's
not just a blindness friendly app.

Fleksy Keyboard Makes Its Way To iOS Through Third Party AppsIf there’s
one thing about Android is that it is not as restrictive compared to
iOS. This means that users are able to customize their device to their
liking, sometimes without even having to root their phone. For example
customization could be a change in launchers, or keyboards, or even
changing the default camera/browser app. Well the good news is that it
looks like some of that customization could be headed iOS’ way in the
form of Fleksy keyboard
<http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/12/fleksy-keyboard-for-android-leaves-beta/>.

The app has been available on Android and recently left its beta phase,
but its developers have not stopped there and have released an SDK for
iOS developers.

While Fleksy will not be able to replace all of iOS’ keyboards,
developers now have the option to include the keyboard within their
apps. Speaking to The Verge
<http://www.theverge.com/2013/12/12/5201868/fleksy-wants-to-become-your-new-ios-keyboard-everywhere>,

Fleksy’s founder, Ioannis Verdelis, was quoted as saying, /“With every
new version of iOS the work required on our part to build a keyboard SDK
has reduced significantly […] We’re [now] doing stuff on iOS that
integrates the keyboard deeper than it’s ever been integrated.” /As it
stands there are a handful of apps that have already integrated Fleksy
into their apps, such as GV Connect, Blindsquare, Wordbox, and Launch.
If you’re wondering what those apps might be like to use with a keyboard
different from the default iOS one, go ahead and check them out.
