Hi All,
I bought the new Plantronics Voyager
Legend. The first thing I did with it when I got it was to wonder what I
got myself into. The body of the single ear peace is larger then what I was
use to with my old Voyager 520 which will not work on the iPhone 7s which
was why I was in the market for a new one. Charging the Legend takes only
90 minutes for a full charge giving you 7 hours of talk time and up to 11
hours stand by time.
After charging it the 90 minutes, I turned the ear peace on and had no
trouble paring with my iPhone 5s. When the phone is paired, all audio now
goes
directly to the ear peace. The audio quality is first class even in mono
but for a hundred dollar ear peace I would expect nothing less. I didn't
pay that much though. I got mine from Amazon for under 70 dollars USD.
There are two controls on the ear peace body that hangs over the back of
your ear. The lower switch is the power switch a simple slide up to power
on and down to power off. When the power is turned on the clear female
voice tells you the remaining talk time. Maximum is up to 7 hours. You can
pair the Legend with 2 phones labeled phone 1 and phone 2 so when powering
on, aside from the remaining talk time, your told phone 1 connected. Sense
I haven't got a second phone I didn't bother reading how to switch and
answer calls on either phone but it is possible to use 2 iPhones with the 1
ear peace. The example they give is, you can have a business phone and a
personal phone and take calls from either phone which is why when you first
turn on the ear peace it announces connected to phone 1 or phone 2.
Above the power switch is the volume control. It's a spring loaded slider.
Slide up to increase the volume and slide down to decrease the volume.
When a phone call comes in, the Legend announces who the caller is by name.
When the ear pease is setup, permission is requested to access your
contacts If you permit this, then the Legend announces the name of the
caller such as John Smith and then says, answer or ignore? All you need to
do then is pick one of those two choices and say it out loud. If you say,
"answer" the voice says answering a call from John Smith. It's totally
hands free. There is a third button mounted on the micro phone boom.
Pressing this button lets you interact with your ear peace. You can even
ask, what can I say? The Legend comes back and lists all the things you can
say such as Am I connected? or check battery and more.
There is a fourth button on the back of the this is the button to make and
take calls as well as to talk to Siri
The ear peace is easy to change so that you can use the Legend in either
ear.
Pressing and holding the button mounted on the boom lets you play or pause
say the NLS Talking book your listening to to make a call. I have not as of
yet been in a situation where a call has come in wile I've been listening to
music or a talking book but I assume here that this ear peace is smart
enough to pause what ever is playing. That's what I've learned about the
Plantronics Legend so far. Would I recommend it to you? I would. It
leaves your hands free!
Regards,
Alan

Thanks for posting about this, Rick. Lots of us have been looking for
a
headset that will play and pause.
I have ordered the Plantronics Legend which is also supposed to do
this.
Will let everyone know how it does. It's supposed to be a bit smaller.
Thanks,

Sieghard,
Actually, the Plantronics Voyager Pro HD can play/pause by pressing
both
volume buttons at the same time. It's also a terrific sounding BT mono
headset. It isn't small however but it's very comfortable to wear.

Subject: Looking for Inexpensive Voice Over Compatible Single Earpiece
Hello, everyone.
I am looking for an inexpensive single-ear/mono Bluetooth earpiece
that
will
allow me to manage phone calls and pause and play Audible and BARD
books.
SIRI compatibility is not necessary. I'm looking at the Plantronics
M50
and
M155. Are there any problems with these devices? Are there other
mono
units I should be considering?
Thank you for all help.
Craig
