I once bought a bluetooth gadget from the same site where you buy the Standscan, www.Standscan.com. It is supposed to do this and it does, but I find it complicated and I believe it was $20 or something like this, so not exactly something where you want to buy 4 or 5 of these. I could see that as Apple's iBeacon technology advances and becomes more common place this might easily be possible for a relatively low cost.
