To set Iowa's maps to do turn by turn, you simply have to open the application 
on the top left there will be a directions button then on the upper part of the 
phone you have   different tabs you want to choose the walking   tab. When I 
used to use this app, I would turn off voice over and let Siri talk the 
directions.
