So I’m in the process of sending an iPad to my in-laws in Germany so that they and my wife can use the Facetime feature for better communication. My question is for folks who’ve done international travel. As this tablet is only going to be used in germany, I’m reluctant to buy the Apple World Travelr kit for $40.00 that has all the various plugs for different parts of the world as it seems entirely unnecessary. My understanding is that all what is really needed is the proper euro duckhead adaptor for the wall charger, but poking around online, I mostly get results from eBay and Amazon. The eBay duckhead adaptors are often from Asia and the Amazon results don’t’ give much if any information. I contacted my local Apple store and they said that they don’t sell these duckhead adaptors individually. The simplest solution and the one the Apple guy recommended is that my in-laws go to an Apple store and buy one, but this is not practicle as they do’t live anywhere near such a store and are not technologically inclined. SO they’re not about to buy one online. I’d like to just be able to send them the tablet ready out of the box. Can anyone recommend any particular euro duckhead adaptor or online store where they had success with their products?
