Hi, for what it's worth, I've used Anker and New Trent batteries and never had any issues.

Hello,

The problem with many of these small chargers, including the Anker, is that
there is no guarantee that they will work with IOS 7. I know that the Incase
5400 is IOS 7 compatible and is pretty small. Hopefully, I'll be getting a
look at it at the Apple store tomorrow. If you like, I'll let you know my
impressions. Unfortunately, I do know that it's pricier than the Anker.

Hi Robert,

When I searched Amazon for "keychain iPhone batteries" it came up with
tons
of results. I looked at the first 2 and in each of these checked out the
"What other items do customers buy after viewing this item".
I clicked on links in this section if a product had a good rating, below
are
3 examples, but there are tons more.

The first one is the one I would buy because:
1. Anker is a well-known name and all their products have good ratings
2. This unit is relatively powerful (3,000 MAH) given it's "lipstick" size
and
3. currently it is the best deal.

Anker Astro Mini 3000mAh Ultra-Compact Portable Charger Lipstick-Sized
External Battery Power Bank
Price: $39.99 on sale for $19.99. Amazon rating of 4.5 out of 5 with 2,299
customer reviews.

Photive iPhone 5 Portable Battery Charger with Built in Lightning Cable.
Ultra Capacity 3000 mAH
Price: $69.99 on sale for $49.99. Amazon rating of 4.5 out of 5 with 528
customer reviews

Skiva Apple Certified External Battery Pack with built-in Lightning and
microUSB Connectors for Apple and Android Devices (Powervault Lightning
A2600)
Price: $49.99. Amazon rating of 4.5 out of 5 with 89 customer reviews

CTFG26A/ref=pd_cp_cps_2

Hope this helps, keep in mind that you can search Amazon for fairly
generic
terms and if that doesn't work Google is always your friend. I find
checking
stuff like this out in that way gives me a much more objective view than
if
I ask on the List where at best a few people may own a particular item.
Beyond that it's basically people doing what I did which is do the search
for you and provide examples.

Regards,
Sieghard

They don't make this model any longer but they do have others just like
it.
The 1800 mAh is small enough to fit in a pocket and of course the A/Can
prongs
flip back up into the case. There is a recessed charge button that you
press to start the charging. It makes the same connect sound that it
would
if you were at home charging your phone in the usual way. You can
always
turn your phone on to see how the charge is going. As long as you hear
the
word charging, it's still um, charging! When it fully recharges, the
recharger will automatically disconnect or if reaches a point where it
cannot recharge any farther so you might see battery power 89 percent
and
it
doesn't say charging then you know that's all your gunna get out of it.
If
you have your sync/charge cable with you, you can put the battery in
your
shirt pocket and still talk on the phone.

Alan

You can get an 1800 mAh battery pack. I have one and it has 2 USB
ports
plus a flip-down A/Can wall plug. The can recharge an iPhone fully
from
dead
to fully charged once and 2 devices such as a Bluetooth ear peace and
an
iPhone probably to better then 90 percent. The charger is about 3
inches
by
2 inches by a inch thick. More then small enough to carry in a pants
pocket. Mine is made by iHome. I don't remember the price but it
wasn't
much. I'll say in the 20 to 30 dollar range and I doubt it was near
30
bucks.

Subject: Tiny External Battery

Hi,

Does anyone here use a small, external battery pack? I'm considering
different options, but I'm not sure if I really need one of the
giant
packs that fits in a bag or briefcase. I know many of you use 6,000
or
even as high as 18,000 mAh packs, but that's just one more thing you
have to carry around with you. I had a battery case for my old 4S,
but
eventually grew tired of the weight on the sleek phone and took it
off.

I've heard of a couple battery packs that are small enough to fit on
a key ring like a thumb drive or at least small enough to sit in a
pants pocket. These seem to be rare, though. There's one called the
JuiceBuddy, but it looks like it is only for the old 4/4S. I also
saw
a Mophie 700 mAh charger and the reviews are mixed. Have any of you
bought one of these smaller keychain battery chargers?

Thanks,
Brice
