Hi Fanus,

The SIM goes on top of the SIM tray as you pull it out which means it goes
on the side where the screen is.
The SIM Tray has a small ridge in the middle underneath so that is a good
way to tell if you are inserting it the right way in case you accidently
drop it, but it's best to do this on a table maybe with a towel underneath
so things can't go sliding around and just pull out the tray and put it down
the way you pull it out.

Now, the SIM does have one corner that is cut off just a bit. That corner
goes towards the outside of the phone and it goes towards the top of the
phone which means if the SIM is sitting in the tray correctly and you insert
the tray let's say half way, that cut off corner would still be visible and
it would be on the side of the SIM tray that is closer to the power button
(the right if the phone is in front of you with the SIM tray side facing
you).

Keep in mind that if you have a 4S now and are used to handling a Micro SIM
that the Nano SIM of the 5S will be so much more smaller. It's really
ridiculously small and you definitely don't want to drop it because you may
have a hard time finding it without sighted help.

Regards,
Sieghard
