Has anyone in the United States used the free cell phone service called
Freedom Pop?
Although I very much enjoy my I devices, I got hold of an android phone
running 4.0 and would love to play with it but at minimal cost. At this
point, I don't even know whether this thing is running stock Android or
whether it can be upgraded to 4.4. But I do enjoy playing.
I sure would like to hear from persons
who have actually used the Freedom Pop service or who are personally
acquainted with someone who has used the service.
This thing runs on the Sprint network and supposedly allows one either
to purchase
a device or bring your own phone. They give you 200 cell minutes and
500 megs of
data for free per month. Additional minutes and data can be purchased
for extremely
attractive prices. One of the devices they sell for $66 is a wireless
hot spot.
Their web site is
http://www.freedompop.com
.
No, I am not talking about Obama phones.
