Yes, that's a good article. However, I'll even go more simple than that. If you have a dynamic mic, you must get directly in to the mic, with in 6-10 inches of it. Speaking directly in to it. If you get off to the sides, above, below. The sound is lost or greatly reduced. In a condenser mic, I can sit back in my chair & speak in or should we say, speak towards the mic.
