There are three different keyboards commonly used. They are QWERTY, AZERTY and QWERTZ. AZERTY keyboard is mostly used for French and QWERTZ for German. Most of us are using QWERTY. The names come from the six letters on the upper left corner of alphabet keys. That is, QWERTY keyboard has Q, W, E, R, T and Y on the upper left corner. Likewise, AZERTY keyboard has A, Z, E, R, T and Y there, and QWERTZ has Q, W, E, R, T and Z there. The only difference between QWERTY and AZERTY is that the two letters Q and W are swapped with A and Z. QWERTY and QWERTZ have the letters Y and Z are swapped each other. Other than these differences, there might be some diacritic marks provided in each keyboard. Hope this helps you understand the difference.
