It is very easy to set an alarm in the native app. Just go to clock and choose alarm at the bottom. Now just choose your hours and minutes from the pickers by flipping your finger up and down. You can set multiple days and different alarm sounds if you like, but not necessary if you just want a one time alarm. In my opinion, a separate app for an alarm is overkill.

Is it pretty easy to set an alarm clock (for waking up) or do you recommend a particular app? Staying at a hotel this week and I've never set an alarm on my phone.
