Chris, the screen on the air is about what you would find on a netbook computer.
You can even buy a case for it that lets you slide the iPad Air into a holder and comes with a QWERTY keyboard. The air delivers a little over 10 hours battery life. The builtin keyboard battery which is seperate from the iPad battery delivers 2 weeks of typing and I get a lot of email before needing a charge. It takes 3 hours to fully recharge the keyboard.
