Without number patterns, number memorisation can go as high as 10 or 11 digits for a very few people. 6 or 7 digits is the normal maximum. Patterns and groups of digits can make this significantly larger as long as each group is memorised separately, and then in relation to the other groups.
For many people, turning each digit into an object can significantly enhance number recall.
