Hello Jim, I don't really think that this can be done. If I understand correctly you're wanting the messages they get sent from your phone number not to go to your iPad and if I'm correct? That can be done. If that is correct then go to settings messages On your Apple ID and I believe you can tap on your phone number and it will unselected. If not just sign out of I messaging by clicking the sign out button and that screen.
