I'm not sure who told you it was a bad idea to use your iPhone on a
plane. I'm sure an iPhone is on the approved list of electronics you can
use during the flight. Also, using airplane mode or using your iPhone on
an air plane won't hurt the iPhone at all.
One thing I'd suggest though is to make sure the books you want to read
are downloaded to your phone and that you can read them in airplane
mode. For example, with BARD books, just turn on air plane mode and make
sure you can read the books. With things like DropBox and Music Match
make sure the files you want when you won't have access to cellular or
wifi are actually on your phone and not in the cloud. Again, you can
test this by turning airplane mode on on your phone and seeing if you
can still access those books, songs and files.

Hi, all. My husband and I are planning to take a trip flying from
Cincinnati to Tucson, AZ. We're flying Delta. I have been using my
IPhone to read books and would like to use it rather than taking a
second device. The last time I flew I asked about using airplane mode
while in flight and was told that I shouldn't. Obviously, it's not a
huge deal to take a bookSensd as well as my phone, but I was just
wondering what others' experiences have been. Thanks.
God bless!
