Hello thanks for these tips, I wondered how I should charge my mac. But
I do not get a low battery warning at 10%. Any ideas on fixing this?

The iPhone contains a Lithium-Polymer battery pack. This pack has different
charging and power rules than the older Ni-Cad or Ni-MH battery packs.
First, you only need to initially charge the pack to full. There is no need for
an initial 24 hour charge cycle.
Next, only run the battery pack through a complete charge cycle once per month,
and this is actually done to reset the battery charge monitoring circuitry.
Third, Li-Polymer battery packs prefer shallow charges. The best to use, if one
is always by power, is 30% to 80%. However, this is not practical for most
people, so iOS circuitry automatically switches to trickle-charge when the
battery pack exceeds 90%. Also, 100% is displayed when the battery pack is
actually around 98 to 99%. This is to encourage people not to over charge the
battery pack.
Fourth, when one gets the low battery warning, it is best for the battery to
plug the iOS device in and start charging as soon as possible. If the battery
pack is run down too low, this can shorten the life of the battery pack. On the
iPhone and iPod, this is 20%. On the iPad and MacBook, this is 10%.
In the case of the battery packs, Apple knows more than the end-user.
Li-Polymer batteries are different from the older battery types, so what you
used to know about rechargeable battery packs has changed. Oh, and Li-Polymer
battery packs do not contain toxic materials like the older rechargeable
batteries, but they are a little more combustable.

Whenever I have a new iPhone I will try to run it all the way down then charge

Hi friends,
Do I need to charge my IPhone 5s for 24 hours before using it straight out of
the box?
