If you are concerned about wearing out the home button, which I think is a
legitimate concern, turn on assistive touch. It is in accessibility, under the
physical and motor heading, or ask searie to turn it on. Then, when you tap
assistive touch, it, among other things, puts a home button on the screen, a
little way above the real home button. If you do not like where the assistive
touch icon appears on the screen, you can double tap and hold the icon, then
move it to a more convenient place.

Subject: Four finger swipe up to open app switcher.

If I go to the bottom of my screen and put my four fingers on the very bottom
and swipe up I can open the app switcher. I use this gesture to open the app
switcher to save on wearing out my home button. Does this gesture still open
the app switcher in ios 7.1? I still have ios 7.0.6 as I have not downloaded
the new version due to the keyboard issue. I am using an iPad 4.
