I know I had bluetooth on before I updated, and it's still on now, as it should be.

David and list. I discovered after updating that Bluetooth was turned on and
I don't believe it was before I updated. Now, I might have turned it on once
and forgot to turn it off, but in case there is a problem, people might want
to check to see if it has been changed in the update process. I'm guessing
it is opporator error on my part, but perhaps worth checking.

Subject: iPhone battery drain issue in iOS 7.1

Someone reported higher than normal battery drain in iOS 7.1. So, I checked
my battery status and found that my battery had drained 8% in about half an
hour. In another 15 minutes, it decreased another 3%.

I checked the status bar since iOS automatically displays the processes
being used. Sure enough, location services was running. This means, the GPS
antenna was active. The GPS antenna is the biggest drain on the battery. I
checked my apps and found nothing in the app switcher that would use
location services. So, I went into settings, general, background refresh,
and blocked all apps from running in the background. Location services
disappeared from the status bar, and my battery appears to have returned to
normal usage.

Next, I will switch off all background apps and reactivate background
refresh. If location services comes on again, this will mean iOS 7.1 is
improperly activating location services deeper in the system. Otherwise, I
will start testing each app individually to discover which apps are now
automatically activating location services even when the app(s) are not
running.
