I am delighted to report that the issue where I was unable to launch the
app switcher on my wife's ipod has been resolved. In fact, I actually
was able to use the tripple click home for voice over as well. I am
grateful to all who assisted with this problem. But special thanks to
Anna who suggested slowing down the click response time. I had it set
for default but set it to slow, and that did the trick. Again, many
thanks to all.
