I've seen this concept expressed so often on this list, and others too;  but 
this one seems to have key details not hitherto expressed, or noted at 
least;  so thanks for this,  as good a definition given so far I reckon.

To select text with gestures first turn the rotor to lines, or words, or 
characters. Then put two fingers together on the screen and spread them 
apart. If you had the rotor set to lines, then you would select one line at 
a time for each time you touch the screen with two fingers then spread them 
apart. The key is to not lift your fingers until you have spread them at 
least an inch apart or more. Once you think you have selected all the text 
you want, then turn the rotor to edit, flick up or down with one finger 
until you get to the action you want and double tap.
