Hi Andrew, Yes, I find mine to be sturdy. I use it out and about a lot. It is 16 cells, not 18 as I previously stated. It works well with i devices via bluetooth. I use mine with my iPhone and iPod. It also works well with windows, not sure whether it will work with the mack. Do a google search for the Seika Mini or visit: www.rnib.org.uk/shop and search for the Seika Mini. I know it works with Jaws, Window-eyes and NVDA. Hope this helps, Carla.
