Flick to the particular message you want to delete. This should also put you in the actions rotor; you shouldn't have to turn it there and if you try to turn it there when you aren't on an actionable item you probably won't find it. Swipe down with one finger and you should find "more". Double tap it. There will be a delete button and you will hear selected on the message if you flick past there on the way to delete so you will know you are deleting the right one. It also will ask you to confirm your deletion.
