The back of the ear peace is about a half inch thick and holds the power switch and up/down volume slider. When I first got the Legend, I wasn't sure I would like it because all the electronics are inside it. As it turned out, it's actually very comfortable because it's not a thin wire kind of thing. The Legend comes with 3 tips that go inside the ear. I was surprised that although the ear peace actually goes inside the ear, you can still hear what's going on around you through that ear.The Legend comes set for use in the right ear but changing it to left ear use is a matter of flipping the boom over and turning it this ear peace is very comfortable to wear and you won't even know it's in your ear.

Does the earpiece actually go into your ear, or sit outside your ear? Andy From: Alan Paganelli Sent: Sunday, April 13, 2014 11:01 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Does This Bluetooth Headset Exist? It has 4 controls. The first is a slide power on/off switch. The second is a momentary switch. This controls the up/down volume. The Siri button is mounted on the back of the mike boom. On the boom it's self is that button I was talking about. Tapping the siri button will get you a read out of the battery power given in talk time with a max of 7 hours. No stand by time is announced because stand by time would probably be a week to 10 days and you would use that time up by talking or using the ear peace for something like listening to a talking book, music, etc. If you can't remember what you can ask your legend, just tap the button on the boom and ask, "what can I say" The female friendly voice will come back and tell you your choices such as pare mode, Am I connected, check battery call back or cancel. When a call comes in, if you have given permission to access your contacts in setup, your legend will announce the caller and then ask you, answer or ignore? By this ear peace and you will have hands free access. I really like that feature because your hands may be holding a gallon of milk in one hand and your cane in the other and I'm sure you can come up with many more situations where hands free operation would be handy. Note: the call back feature redials the last called number which can be useful too. If I've left anything out, other legend users can chime in. I should lastly say that all audio is channeled through the ear peace. This coupled with the screen curtain gives you total privacy when punching in information you would rather keep to yourself. And, when you turn the legend off, all audio output is returned to your phone's built in speaker and you have to do nothing to make that happen. Hello Alan, this sounds like a wonderful ear piece. I have always thought of getting The Plantronics Voyager Legend. You have just about talked me into it, but if you could tel us a little more about the product. Have you got a complete list of functions The Plantronics Voyager Legend has please?, Billy From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Alan Paganelli Sent: 13 April 2014 17:32 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Does This Bluetooth Headset Exist? The Plantronics Voyager Legend will let you listen to NLS Talking Books via the Bard app. The ear peace permits you to wirelessly control the play/stop button. If you setup the Bard app to permit use wile the screen is locked, then the Legend start/stop works by taking the ear peace out of your ear. In other words, you want to pause reading for a wile. Just pull the ear peace out of your ear. The sensors in the Legend pauses the playback of your book. You would have to do your rewind and fast forward through the Bard app. At first, I thought this would turn out to be a deal breaker but in reality, it hasn't. All you really need is the ability to play/stop. When a phone call comes in through the ear peace, playback is automatically placed on stop. I don't remember for sure but I believe the legend permits playing to start again via the start/stop button on the mike boom. The Plantronics Voyager Legend is a ear peace not a stereo headset however, the audio quality of the legend is very good and if you don't mind listening to a little music in mono and not to bother other people around you then the legend should work just fine for you. I use mine when I want to continue reading my book wile my wife is sleeping. Another advantage is, you can still walk around the house up to 30 feet and leave your phone on the charger. HTH PS: I paid $69.99 from Amazon. Retail price is $99.99 USD. I'm looking for a bluetooth headset to use with my iPhone 5 and don't care whether it's a single ear or both ears set but I do want it to have the following features: 1.. A2DP compatible so it works with VoiceOver. 2.. Controls similar to what is found on the wired earpods including a remote button, volume buttons, and a microphone. Since my phone is in my pocket most of the time, having access to a remote button allowing movement between tracks and rewind and fast forward capability is critical. 3.. A decent sound. I will be using this primarily to listen to books but will also use it to listen to music and make calls. I already have a Plantronics M50 Bluetooth headset but I don't think it has a remote button that allows starting and stopping of audio and rewind and fast forward of items playing. Can anyone suggest a headset containing the above features that you can recommend? Thanks in advance. Alan Lemly -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list.
