I think what happened is that the vibrations/movements from walking triggered the Shake feature, at least that is how I always interpreted this on my iPhone. You can, I think, set the Shake to be very sensitive or less sensitive. Thanks Sieghard and Wayne. Certainly last time I used it tapping ‘Next cross street’ put it in a mode whereby it was constantly monitoring and announcing as you walked. It would make a squelching sound every five seconds or so to show it was constantly updating and whenever it had fresh info it would report it.
