No, not a normal HDMI cable, no iDevice has an HDMI port. However, Apple does make a Lightning Digital AV Adapter. It is an adapter you plug into the Lightning port on your iPad Mini and then you can use a normal HDMI cable to connect the iPad Mini to your TV. Alternatively you can spend $45 or so more and get an Apple TV. It is a small box which you connect to your home WiFi or you can also connect it to your router with an Ethernet cable and you then connect its HDMI output to an HDMI input on your TV or surround sound receiver. You would then use Airplay to play content from your iPad Mini to your Apple TV wirelessly and you can also use Airplay mirroring which will show your iPad screen on your TV. To me the Apple TV is the more attractive option as it is also a wonderful device to use by itself for consuming content from Netflix (if you have a subscription), Youtube and other services. You can, of course, also buy and rent movies from iTunes via the Apple TV and play anything from your iTunes library on the computer on your TV. Keep in mind that it is pretty much a given that Apple will release the fourth Generation Apple TV this year. It is quite likely that it will be announced and shown at Apple's world wide developer conference on June 2 when iOS 8 will also be unveiled.
