Hi Terri, You can try to switch the rotor to words, then flick down to read your text message word by word. Once you get to the code, let Voiceover read it, afterwards do a 3-finger quadruple tap, this is the command to copy whatever was last spoken to the clipboard. Now you can start a new text message and you can turn the rotor to Edit, then flick down until you get to Paste and double tap.
You can also use the manual way to select the code, this involves finding the code, then put 2 fingers on the screen and slowly move them apart (it's called a pinch out). You can control how much text is selected by setting your rotor to character or words or lines. Once you selected all the text you want turn the rotor to Edit, flick down to copy and double tap, then pasting is as described above. Garth on his website www.iBlindTech.com has a podcast describing how to select, copy and paste text which may help, but using the 3-finger quadruple tap after a particular part of text has been spoken often works very well. Only problem here is that sometimes after a tracking number or phone number Voiceover will say "link" to indicate that the number in question is a link one can double tap on. In that case the word "link" is also copied and you have to delete it from the end of whatever number or text after you paste it. I think I'll write to Apple about this because this should not be part of what gets copied since Voiceover speaks it, but it's not part of the text yet once you paste the text, it becomes plain text. I received a text message with a code in it to my I Phone. The confirmation code is too hard for me to remember. Is there a way that I can edit it and copy or paste the code from the text so that I can send the reply to the sender? Thanks.
