Hi Jan,

There is some sort of forecast, but that part of the app is not accessible.
There are also some graphs and such when you turn the phone to landscape.
The basic readings are what is accessible, i.e. outdoor temperature, minimum
and maximum temperature from Midnight to Midnight, felt temperature,
humidity and pressure. Also the indoor modules measures indoor temp, minimum
and maximum, humidity as well as CO2 levels and it gives you a air quality
indicator for the room the station is in.

Currently this information is not logged so you would have to record the
readings as you are doing now. I was going to check with the developer to
see whether having a history of the readings is something they might
implement down the road.

I do know that a wind sensor is coming at some point, not sure about UV, but
I could see them adding that as well.

Regards,

Sieghard

Hi

Thank you very much for this. What a very interesting setup? It might not
be cheep, but sounds worth every bit of money. Does all of the weather
station data get logged somewhere, so one can check it after a time? To me
this sounds amazing, and the kind of thing I enjoy using. At one point I
read something on forecasting, does it have some weather forecasting
abilities, or does this happen in conjunction with official weather
services? Thanks for answering all of this, making me more determined to
somehow get a station of my own.

Regards

Jan

Hi Jan,

That is no problem for the Netatmo Weather Station/rain gauge. The rain
gauge uses the so-called "tipping bucket" design and can measure from 2mm to
900mm rainfall per hour. Note, that's "per hour" not "per day". 120 mm in a
day is a lot of rain, but the Netatmo rain gauge can handle it no problem.
Below is a link to a review which explains the tipping bucket design, the
rain gauge also shows how much rain was measured per hour over a 24 hour
period.

http://www.tuaw.com/2014/04/24/netatmo-expands-ios-friendly-weather-station-
with-rain-gauge/

The total investment is definitely not cheap. The main station with the main
indoor and 1 outdoor module costs $179 US and the rain gauge is $79 US. You
can also add up to 2 additional indoor modules which also cost $79 each. In
other words, the weather station with the rain gauge would be $258 and if
you added 1 additional indoor module it would be $337.

Best regards,

Sieghard

Hi

very interesting, this weather station. I was wondering about the rain
guage, would be interesting to know what happens when it gets full, before
the 24 hour period is up, when it empties itself. We had 120 mm (5 inches)
the other day within 24 hours, and of course I was not at home to empty my
normal guage. Will the guage empty itself when it gets full, or would you
miss the extra inch that could not be measured then? Just curious about
this, and would like to hear all your findings on this. I don't own a
station myself here, a bit difficult to get this here in South Africa, but I
am somehow wanting to get one, as weather always interested me. I keep a
very basic spred sheet with temperatures wind and rainfall for each month,
and a station measuring all of this by itself would be a great tool to have.

Hello Netatmo users,

For those who haven't noticed yet, Netatmo's update is now available in the
app store and as promised Voiceover once again reads outdoor minimum and
maximum temperature.

I am now looking forward to getting the rain gauge which shipped a few days
ago and hopefully will arrive next week. I'll post a review once I have it
connected to my Netatmo weather station and once it rains so I can test it!

Regards,

Sieghard
